Pupils with special educational needs and mainstream pupils are extremely motivated by film-making activities. Working collaboratively to make the films, pupils of all ages research subject based or cross-curricular themes, use existing and develop new ICT skills, and gain a critical understanding of how the media functions.
Film-Making Workshops for Teachers Ros Cooper has developed simple film-making activities which use equipment and software programmes frequently available in schools. During the Film-Making Workshops for Teachers, participants learn how to use the basic tools required for making films in a variety of formats. Through a hands-on approach, participants make their own short films and discover why film-making is a pedagogically rich and creative classroom activity. The workshops are for all teachers, those with basic ICT skills to ICT teachers who would like to explore film-making.The ICT and pedagogical principles underpinning the film-making activities are suitable for documentary film-making, fictional film-making and digital storytelling activities.
Film-Making Workshops for Pupils Film-Making Workshops for Pupils are available for primary and secondary pupils attending special education or mainstream schools. The workshops are tailored for each group's required learning outcomes.
